Gestern kam endlich der erlösende Anruf, dass ich das Zimmer in Glebe bekomme! Ich sollte nur die Mietsicherung schon mal zahlen, damit die Vermieter eine Sicherheit haben, dass ich das Zimmer auch wirklich am 21. Februar beziehe.
Also habe ich einen Termin mit den Vermietern abgemacht und bin zur Bank gelaufen um das Geld bar abzuheben. Da kam das nächste Problem. Ich kann derzeit nur 100 AUD pro Tag abheben. Warum ist mir noch nicht ganz klar. Nach erster Auskunft der Deutschen Bank haben die Australischen Banken wohl für ausländische Karten eine 100 AUD-Sicherheitssperre eingebaut. Wobei mir die niedrige Grenze schleierhaft ist. 100 AUD sind etwa 63 EUR am Tag. Damit kann man hier zwar Leben… aber etwas größere Beträge kann man nicht ausgeben. Ich werde da auf jeden Fall noch mal nachhaken müssen. Meine Vermieter habe ich mit den ersten 100 AUD vertröstet und werde jetzt täglich eine Abhebung von 100 AUD machen, damit ich den Rest noch vor Einzug an die Vermieter zahlen kann.

Yesterday evening I got the call from the landlords of the room in Glebe. I need to pay the bond now, so that they have a garantie that I will take the room. I will move at the 21st of February.

I set an appointment with the landlords and walked to the ATM to get the money…

There was the next problem. I only get out 100 AUD per day. I don’t know why. The first explanation of the German Bank was, that there are restrictions of the Australian cooperation bank for security reasons. But why is the limit only 100 AUD? Thats only 63 EUR per day. This is not enough to live here. I need to ask again. Now I paid may landlords only a hundred bugs and will go to the ATM every day to get the bond till I’ll move in.
